These images were created using photos I took from Kenilworth castle. I loved the eroding surface texture. It was really interesting how the stone had weathered over 500 years. I thought this would be a good starting point to investigate surface texture.
Although the technique is pleasing and the images that turn out can be realistic as the image chosen it is limited in its actual printing outcomes. Apart from colour choice. Once the Plate is etched using photo emulsion it cannot be used again. It can be multi plate printed with a second plate but that changes the sharpness of the media. There is texture captured within the image, but they are quite flat and are not achieving the effect I am satisfied with.
